Ours have a family.
Nearly every pearl sold online has passed through so many hands that nobody can say where it grew. Andara exists because we can: our family lives and works on the Andaman coast of Southern Thailand, where these pearls come up from the water.

The water
The Andaman Sea is warm, sheltered, and slow — the conditions pearls need. A pearl is not cut or refined from anything; an oyster builds it, layer over layer, and the water it grows in decides its body color, its overtone, and how it holds light.
This is the coast our family calls home. The pearls we sell are the ones we can stand behind because we know exactly which water they came from.

The sorting
Every harvest gets sorted by hand: matched for size, weighed, held up to the light to judge luster, and entered in the registry as a lot. Most of what comes up doesn’t make the cut. What does is the small fraction we’re willing to put our name on.
That registry is where every piece on this site begins. The lot number on a product page is not decoration — it’s the row where that piece was first written down.
What we put in writing
- Every piece traces to a named harvest lot, and ships with its record — origin, harvest window, size, and the luster note from the sorting.
- We sell only what our family has sorted. No anonymous wholesale stock, ever.
- Real pearls, plainly priced. No “inquire for price,” no invented scarcity, no reviews we didn’t earn.
